Terms of Service

1. Introduction
Plenix is operated by Shah Hussain (the “Founder”). The service consists of plenix.io, the daily permit data emails, and related features (collectively, the “Service”). These Terms of Service (this “Agreement”) define the terms under which you may access and use the Service.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you accept and agree to be bound by this Agreement. You must be 18 years of age or older and legally able to enter into a contract. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company to this Agreement.
3. Service Description
Plenix delivers daily emails containing public building permit data sourced from government permit portals. We collect, organize, and deliver this data; we do not generate it and do not guarantee its accuracy or completeness.
4. Account and Subscription
4.1 Account creation
Creating an account requires an email and password or signing in with Google.
4.2 Account security
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
4.3 One user per account
Accounts are for individual use. Sharing an account with other users is not permitted.
4.4 Suspension
Plenix may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this Agreement.
5. Subscription and Billing
5.1 Pricing
Pricing is currently $49/month as a founding-member rate (which will increase to $99/month). Pricing shown at checkout is the price you pay.
5.2 Free trial
New accounts receive a 7-day free trial. No payment method is required to begin the trial.
5.3 Auto-renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically each month unless cancelled before the next billing date.
5.4 Payment processor
Billing is handled by LemonSqueezy, a third-party processor. Plenix does not store payment card details.
5.5 Cancellation
You may cancel anytime from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
5.6 Refunds
Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods unless required by law.
6. Use Restrictions
You shall not, and shall not permit any third party to:
- 6.1 Resell, redistribute, sublicense, or publish the permit data
- 6.2 Scrape, crawl, or automatically extract data from Plenix
- 6.3 Use Plenix to build a competing product or service
- 6.4 Train AI or machine-learning models on Plenix data without a separate written agreement
- 6.5 Share account access with others (one user per account)
- 6.6 Reverse engineer the Service
- 6.7 Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Violation results in immediate termination without refund.
7. Data and Content
7.1 Source
Permit data is aggregated from public building permit records published by US county and parish government portals.
7.2 Permitted use
You may use the data for your own business purposes, including competitive intelligence, market research, geographic market analysis, operational planning, and other lawful business activities. Your use of the data must comply with all applicable laws including, where relevant, telemarketing regulations (TCPA), email marketing regulations (CAN-SPAM), and applicable consumer privacy laws (state and federal). You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of the data complies with these requirements.
7.3 Prohibited use
You may not resell, license, sublicense, or redistribute the data to third parties. You may not use the data for any unlawful purpose or in any manner that violates applicable laws including consumer protection, privacy, anti-spam, or telemarketing regulations.
7.4 Plenix property
Plenix retains ownership of all aggregation, organization, classification, and delivery infrastructure, including the Service software, brand, classifiers, and any derived datasets.
8. Data Accuracy and Service Availability
8.1 Public-source data
Permit data comes from public sources that may have errors, omissions, or delays.
8.2 No guarantee
Plenix does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of permit data.
8.3 Service availability
Plenix aims to deliver emails daily but does not guarantee uninterrupted service.
8.4 Your responsibility
You assume all risk and responsibility for decisions made based on data delivered by the Service.
9. Third-Party Services
Plenix relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own terms:
- LemonSqueezy (payment processing)
- Resend (transactional email delivery)
- Neon (database hosting)
- Vercel (web application hosting)
- Google (OAuth login, if used)
10. Termination
10.1 Termination by you
You may terminate by cancelling your subscription.
10.2 Termination by Plenix
Plenix may terminate or suspend access at any time for violations of this Agreement.
10.3 Effect of termination
Upon termination, your access to the Service ends and your account data is deleted within 30 days.
10.4 Survival
Sections 6 (Use Restrictions), 11 (Disclaimers), 12 (Limitation of Liability), and 13 (Indemnification) survive termination.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plenix disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Plenix does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will be complete or accurate.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plenix’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid Plenix in the 12 months preceding the claim. Plenix is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Plenix harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of this Agreement, or your violation of any third-party rights.
14. Changes to Terms
Plenix may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in courts located in Delaware.
